We are Meg, Brand, and R.A.D, and this is our journey "from Texas-sized 2 Tiny House fo4r thr3e."

Welcome

Whether you've been following our blog since December 2013 or just stumbled across one of our pages in your own quest for information on living the tiny life, we welcome you!

We are a family of three from Texas that decided to downsize our belongings and upgrade our lives by selling, donating, or giving away 95% of our stuff, selling our 3193sqft McMansion, and building a THOW (tiny house on wheels) to travel around North America on our way to relocating to Washington State. Life in Texas has been just fine, but we're craving cooler climes and literally greener pastures! The loss of Meg's mother in 2013 to cancer spurred the decision to stop putting off our dreams year after year and take the plunge since just a month before she was diagnosed, Meg and her mom were picking out land to build the "family compound" as they lovingly called it. The decision to go truly tiny (we'd already planned to downsize when we moved to WA anyway), however, was hatched at the realization that now is a perfect time to travel the country while neither 4-yr old R.A.D and online-college-attending Brand aren't beholden to brick-and-mortar school schedules. The fact that Meg can work at as a travel nurse just sealed the deal!

I’ve always dreamed of traveling the US in an old Airstream with a beat up ‘52 Chevy and an old yellow dog and a pink plastic flamingo. Brandy has always wanted to build a house from scratch. This lets us combine our two dreams into a modern-day version but with two fat Pugs, a toddler, and a much sturdier truck.
